uuuuuuuuuh. . .how come on my profile I chose the subsilver layout, and I have this wierd looking red one? (I don't deal well with change. . .) and the colors are a little dark. . .

this is because I did not like the default look, so I have gone with this one. The reason it does not allow change is because modifications made to the board (ie, the new chat, etc) require that each template (subSilver, etc) be edited, and that is a lot of work

meh. I don't like the black. . .it's just so dark (same as I said before). . .I don't care much about chatting. . .cause you are the only person I talk to on here and we never chat.

well, that should be able to be changed, I would just have to figure out what background color works, as it is a matter of changing the .CSS file that defines all the colors, fonts, etc.

you know, my eyes are actually hurting looking at the black. . .they seem to have to strain, don't get me wrong, I do think it looks cool. . .

I can always replace the black with another color. I have learned a lot in the realm of CSS, so would you have a better suggestion for the color?

Well, the thing is, that I like the layout of the site forums. It is the simple color things that I was going to look into changing. Like, example, right now the font color is white on a form of black. I do not like the look of the default. I think one of the reasons deals with that is what most who use phpBB use that subsilver default. If you run across a site that has a nice color scheme, then point me to it and I will look into it.

Why don't you try a light gray background with black text and keep the red trim? And if that doesn't work, try something else...and so on until you have it where you want it.
