butter or margarine?

Postby cmplxty7 » Wed Aug 22, 2007 18:02:28

What do you guys use? I grew up with both at different times, mostly margarine, though, and that is what I used for quite a while. Then I decided with all health professionals saying butter is really a better choice that I would switch to that. I usually prefer butter on bread or whatever. But I have noticed that lots of quick-to-make food and recipes still call for margarine. We don't go through that much of either, so I think it would be wasteful to buy both. This thought is brought to you by my angry taste buds that had been looking forward to the classic taste of Kraft Mac & Cheese, and instead got some awful-tasting stuff because I used butter instead of margarine. :x

I grew up using margarine as well. However now that I'm in control of things (and because my husband required it) I use real butter. And it's YUMMY

BUTTER

but then i actually buy and use Promise which is expensive and recommended by my doctor. Actually it's not too bad. and butter flavoring - which i also use - probably contains all the toxic shit and fats that i'm supposed to avoid.

BUTTER use it and love it

When I am doing baking and something big or important, I like to use better, I think it has a better flavor, and it also isn't as oily.

Margarine I use in PB sandwiches, mac and cheese, boxes of pasta and such.

See I don't notice a difference when making mac and cheese with butter or with margarine.

When I bake cookies, I use Butter Flavored Crisco.
When I make Kraft Cheese & Macaroni I use a stick of margerine and no milk.
For everything else I also use margerine. No biggie to me.
Everyone should be a non-conformist.
