Altoona Hy-Vee

It would be wise if you NEVER bought donuts from this establishment. I went in on sunday evening to purchase a donut to find the donut case was SWARMING with flies landing on and puking on the donuts. I found this repulsive, so I advised the manager of my opinion and told him he lost my business. (I'm sure he was frantic over losing $.40).

If I was a store, that is not how I would work, it would not matter what the price, your service would be important to me.

Unfortunately, stores that really DO exist don't seem to feel this way. So I'm sure he couldn't have cared less and his behavior proved this. He just said he'd check into it and pretty much brushed me off because I interupted a meeting he was having with about 4 other employees in the middle of the checkout area blocking much walk way.

You don't say that when I complain about Wal-Mart!

FYI - don't buy meat at the Des Moines Wal-Mart(s)...they do not keep it cool enough. Seriously, I was grocery shopping there a couple weeks ago and a whole row of the hamburger was totally brown - it was disgusting. I have sworn to not buy meat there ever again - any at all. I will not buy meat from anywhere that doesn't actually have a meat counter there - should have been my first red flag. I just keep shuddering at the thought that someone probably bought some of that browned meat, figuring it would just be fine *gags*
