First game of the season, and Wood pitches a two hit 2 (should have been one) run game victory!! All I can say is this... it will be TOTALLY BEYOND sweet when the Cubs win tomorrow, and the third game is over and the losing picture turns out to be GREG MADDOX.

ESPN wrote:Actually, the Cubs must feel like they're already at home. Thousands of Chicago fans were part of the overflow crowd of 52,043 at Turner Field, which had its first postseason sellout in three years.

While Atlanta's tomahawk choppers did their best to drown out the Chicago contingent, they didn't stand a chance when Wood became the first Cubs pitcher to drive in the game-winning run in a postseason game since Orval Overall in the 1907 World Series.

I find it amusing of all the news that I have learned of since leaving the states, I have heard most about sports. Dad told me the chiefs were doing good, and then Rob told me about the cubs. . .
"Rob: well if you havent heard they are clinched the National league Central saturday and now they are in the Playoffs against atlanta and they won there first game"

There is a BIG difference here!! The Cubs have not won a Pennent game since 1945, outdating people such as my mother, and all of my friends. The Cub's have not won a series since 1908. This outdates every human being I know. This is big exciting news!!

Some point in the mid 1990's I had season tickets, and I went to quite a few games. The seats were nice, also, right around home plate. It was actually rather nice, and I think about thinking on it, that I miss it slightly.
